The end of January marked the end of our nine weeks of study at the Institut, and our two main lecturers put on an Abschluss party for us. Neither of them said no to a glass of wine or two, so it was a fitting ending to our total immersion experience of Germany.
We all then went our separate ways, after exchanging addresses with those we wouldn't mind meeting up with again somewhere.
I travelled with my friend Jon Stevens (not the muso) to Frankfurt as we were both going to Manchester - Jon to his home, and me to stay with Mary Bundy, the sister of our neighbour Dot from Te Hono Street in Tauranga, New Zealand.
