We spent quite a few hours longer in Frankfurt than we anticipated as Manchester was fog bound, and there wasn't a lot to do in the airport until nearly midnight when we eventually took off. Poor Mary had to pick me up at some ungodly hour, but she didn't mind.
The next day Jon picked me up to take me on a drive (and a climb) around the Peak District, which was pretty cool - literally. We passed lots of cute little pubs and did a bit of a walk up a big hill, which certainly filled in the day. We made plans for him to visit us in New Zealand later on in the year when we would be there visiting Dad.
That night Mary decided she would introduce me to haggis, one of her specialties. Not sure that I would try it again, but it was another experience.
We also went shopping in Manchester and got as far as the gates of Granada Studios where they filmed Coronation Street, but unfortunately the weather was so bad we didn't go for a stroll around and visit the Rovers Return. I hoped I would get a chance on another trip, but they moved the studios out of town and it just wouldn't be the same.
